Faith is not about having all the answers. It is trusting that the Savior is shaping us into something beautiful. Scripture shows faith in Jesus Christ is not about knowing every detail. It is about choosing to lean on Him, even when we do not see the whole picture.
The Book of Mormon teaches plainly that faith isn’t the same as certainty. Alma says, “faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things” and that if we have faith, we “hope for things which are not seen, which are true” (Alma 32:21). Paul teaches the same principle: “we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Real life rarely gives us the whole map. Faith in Christ means we keep walking with Him when we can only see the next step.
This is where the “refining” part really matters. Moroni says we do not get a witness until after our faith is tried. The Lord often lets things play out before we get the comfort we want. Peter compares it to gold tested by fire. Christ does not refine us to punish us. He does it because He loves us and wants to prepare us for something better than we can imagine.
Faith In Jesus Christ
Faith in Jesus Christ is what turns hard times into strength. James says that when our faith is tested, it builds patience. Patience helps us grow into better people. Trusting the Savior changes what we can handle, how we forgive, and how we start fresh. The goal is not just to get through tough times. It is to become more like Him because of them.
Faith in Christ is not just a nice feeling. It gives us power to act. That kind of faith keeps us praying when answers are slow. It helps us serve when we are tired, take the sacrament when we feel imperfect, and helps us show up at church when life feels messy.
Most of all, faith brings us back to Jesus Himself. He invites us to come to Him and find rest. Faith means choosing to come to Him again and again, even when we do not understand what He is doing.
If you are in a season of refining, do not give up. Keep trusting the Savior. Hold on to your promises. Keep showing up. Even if you cannot see what He is doing, you can trust who He is.
